The ANA Star Wars livery series is finally complete, with the fourth aircraft, C-3PO, officially entering commercial operation this week on March 21.

One and a half years ago, I captured the first aircraft, R2-D2, on its first passenger flight and another look at the R2-D2 special liner’s takeoff. One year ago, I photographed ANA Star Wars Livery 2nd Jet JA604A. Half a year ago, I captured the 3rd Jet BB-8. Yesterday, I finally got the 4th jet as well, fulfilling a wish.

The flight plan for this day could be found on the ANA official website. So, based on the schedule, I arranged a shooting plan for each flight. Moving constantly between various shooting spots, the physical exertion was significant.

Arrived at Haneda Airport Terminal 2 at 7:30 AM in the early morning. Around 8:00 AM, captured the departure of flight NH15 from Tokyo to Osaka Itami Airport, using Runway RWY05.

Next, rushed to Ukishima Park. Captured flight NH20 returning from Osaka to Tokyo around 11:00 AM, using Runway RWY34L.

Waited at Ukishima Park for over an hour, and at 12:50 PM, captured the takeoff of flight NH253 from Tokyo to Fukuoka, using Runway RWY05.

Then rushed back to Haneda Airport Terminal 1 to photograph NH258 returning from Fukuoka, also using Runway RWY34L. It was already 17:00 in the afternoon.

By this time, the light was already quite dim, but I still walked back from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2 to capture the departure of flight NH37 (Tokyo to Osaka). The sky had gone completely dark, so I had to resort to a handheld panning shot with a shutter speed of 1/6 second. The details of the fuselage could not be captured clearly.

There are still many photos that need to be organized slowly, so I selected these few to post first.
