Bought during Carenado’s Christmas sale last year, the PA28 181 ARCHER II received its 2.0 update yesterday. I upgraded immediately this morning and found that the new version is well-optimized for X-Plane 10, running much more smoothly than before. I doubt I’ll ever use version 1.0 again.

Additionally, the 2.0 update includes significant sound improvements. At different throttle positions, you can clearly hear changes in the engine sound. At the same time, sound effects for opening/closing the door, tires touching down, and deploying retracting flaps feel more realistic than before, significantly enhancing the overall immersion.

There are also new control buttons added to the lower-left corner of the screen: As shown above, there’s a C key and an O key. The C key is used to change views, including Captain’s seat, Co-pilot’s seat, Rear seat, Throttle quadrant view, Fuel tank control view, Comms radio view, Wingtip views (left/right), Vertical stabilizer view, Underside view, etc. It also allows for convenient adjustment of the field of view. The O key can open the cabin door, cargo door, etc.
