Boarding ANA Star Wars Livery Jet 4 (C-3PO)
It was quite a few years ago that I photographed the ANA Star Wars livery Jet 4, C3PO, but I never had the opportunity to fly on it. This time, taking advantage of a trip from Osaka back to Tokyo, I made a point to book the C3PO flight, fulfilling a wish of many years.
Before boarding, naturally, I first checked out the view from the observation deck at Osaka Itami Airport.
I didn’t bring my DSLR camera; being able to capture such results with just a small Sony Cyber-shot isn’t bad at all. -

The prerequisites for great aircraft photography, in my opinion based on priority, are:

Prologue: An Aviation Enthusiast's Journey

Actually, I recently stumbled upon the real location by accident (though I didn’t fly).
To commemorate this, I’ll write a simple note.Santa Monica Municipal Airport, code KSMO, translated into Chinese as 圣莫尼卡机场, is located in the city of Santa Monica, north of Los Angeles, just over ten minutes’ drive from the famous Santa Monica Beach. This is a typical general aviation airport without scheduled commercial flights, serving only private planes and business jets.

A Glimpse of Fukuoka Airport (RJFF)
ANA Flight NH245 Trip Report mentioned a business trip to Fukuoka. Actually, after disembarking, I still managed to squeeze in some time to look around the airport. Where did I go? Naturally, the rooftop observation deck.
The airport map is shown below. The Domestic Terminal is at the top of the map, which is east of the Runway, and the International Terminal is at the bottom, which is west of the Runway. It is worth noting that Fukuoka Airport only has a single north-south Runway 16/34.

Visiting ontop, the Aviation Store Claimed to be the Only One in the Kansai Region
Happy Year of the Monkey everyone!
Last week, I went to Osaka on a business trip. Since the meeting ended early, I wasn’t in a rush to go home, so I went to check out the famous aviation goods store Ontop. After all, it’s very close—just take the subway “Osaka Municipal Subway Sakaisuji Line” to “Ebisucho” Station, go out from Exit A1B, and walk north for 2 minutes.
This shop is actually a branch of “Nichiei Wireless,” which sells radio communication equipment. The store is located on the 2nd floor, right above the Nichiei Wireless shop on the 1st floor. However, when I arrived, I found out the owner had stepped out and wouldn’t be back for 40 minutes, so I had to wander around the area. Fortunately, this area is an electronics street with stores like “Joshin Denki,” and since I was already there, I couldn’t just leave without seeing anything.

All Nippon Airways Tokyo Haneda-Beijing Flight NH961 Trip Report Part 2

Following the previous post, the flight is flying west over Tokyo. Downtown Tokyo is right beneath our feet, and some obvious landmarks, such as Tokyo Bay in the upper left corner, the Imperial Palace surrounded by a moat in the center left, Tokyo Dome in the lower center, the State Guest House and Roppongi in the center, and Meiji Jingu Shrine on the right, etc., are all clearly visible.

Flying ANA Flight NH961 from Tokyo Haneda to Beijing (Part 1)

Taking advantage of the year-end holidays, I took an All Nippon Airways (ANA) Tokyo-Beijing flight NH961. It was quite a pleasant experience. Below is a summary of the entire process, mainly through photos.

Early on, I checked the route on the AIP and drew it out on SkyVector.
Since I wanted to photograph downtown Tokyo and Mt. Fuji, I booked a window seat on the left side. -
Aboard Flight HA457
Last week, after watching a concert and having a drink with a friend, we inadvertently started talking about flying. My friend mentioned having experienced a flight with prolonged turbulence once, which has since led to a fear of flying.
Personally, I prefer to enjoy the flight, Of course, I wouldn’t want to encounter bad weather like Clear Air Turbulence or rapid changes at the tropopause.
After all, humans are land-dwelling creatures, and our eyes are accustomed to viewing the world from the surface. But since we have the opportunity to fly and look down at this world from above, This is in itself a rare opportunity to see countless sights we usually can’t see from the ground. Everyone is willing to travel far and wide, spending time and energy just to glimpse unfamiliar cultures and scenery; Actually, flying in a plane can achieve the same effect.

A Trip on Flight HA458
Taking a night flight from Haneda to Honolulu that arrives around noon is quite comfortable. You just sleep after boarding, wake up for breakfast, and then disembark. Since you have the rest of the afternoon to go shopping, you hardly feel the jet lag at all.
However, there is one downside: there is very little enjoyment in the middle of the night. You can only look at the islands and the ocean before landing. So, the plan for this flight was quite monotonous, consisting mainly of sleeping. Recently, I don’t seem to watch movies on planes anymore; I only look at the route map on the entertainment system.

Review of All Nippon Airways Flight NH1259 from Tokyo Haneda to Shanghai Hongqiao
It has been quite a while since I last wrote a trip report like this. Looking back, the last one was from that CX543 flight two years ago. Since last September, Japan lifted the ban on the use of electronic devices on aircraft, but since I rarely travel, the opportunity to film and document an entire flight was delayed for a long time.
For this trip (N months ago) to Shanghai, I booked ANA flight NH1259. Since it was a private trip, a relatively cheap economy seat plus a window seat was quite satisfying. Following my routine, before departure, I went to the observation deck at Haneda’s International Terminal to look at the airframe I would be riding: a Boeing 777-200ER, registration JA708A, manufactured in May 2000, serial number 28277, Spot 110.
The weather on the day wasn’t great; thick layers of stratus and cumulus clouds covered the sky. -
Mr. Ozawa's Travel Flight Log
The word “Sensei” in Japanese means “teacher” or “doctor.” For instance, Lu Xun wrote the famous essay “Mr. Fujino,” reminiscing about Mr. Fujino, who taught him in Sendai.
The Mr. Ozawa introduced here is my wife’s university professor. He is 80 years old this year, but he is in excellent health. He plays tennis four times a week and looks to be only about 60 or 70. Mr. Ozawa is a senior aviation enthusiast. Recently, I saw his collection of flight logs and felt it was necessary to record them.

Review of Cathay Pacific Flight CX543: Haneda to Hong Kong
One morning, I took Cathay Pacific Flight 543 to Hong Kong. Sitting in the rear left seat, I had great weather and took plenty of photos along the way, so let me share the experience here.
The weather on the day was few clouds and no wind at Haneda, with visibility over 10 km—perfect for travel.
The weather at Hong Kong airport was quite similar, just with slightly more cloud cover. Lucky me.
I also checked the high-level weather chart; there were no adverse conditions like strong winds. -
Starflyer Kansai-Haneda Route Flight Review
Starflyer is a very small budget airline in Japan that began operations in 1996. They only have a total of 10 Airbus A320 aircraft, and naturally, their routes are few, so their business situation isn’t great.
While the company has low public recognition, it is quite well-known among aviation enthusiasts, mainly because their design is very distinctive, earning them the 1996 Good Design Award. One of their features is the use of a black基调 with white accents, making it very easy to recognize. The cabin equipment is also unified in black; not just the seats, even the lavatories are designed in black. When the company was first established, even the toilet paper was black, which sparked huge interest among aviation enthusiasts. Everyone would secretly take the toilet paper home as a souvenir; it was very popular. However, the airline couldn’t sustain the losses, so they eventually had to switch to using regular toilet paper.

Hiroshima Airport Shooting Notes
Recently, I traveled to Hiroshima for sightseeing. On my way back home, I took a JAL flight from Hiroshima Airport to Tokyo and took the opportunity to look around the airport vicinity and take some photos. Here is a brief summary.
The way to get to the airport is by taking the airport bus from the North Exit of Hiroshima Station; it takes about 45 minutes to arrive.

Since Hiroshima Airport has international flights to China, the information displays also show information in Chinese, which is nice.
Upon entering the airport, I headed straight for the observation deck on the 3rd floor. Only after coming up did I realize that there is an admission fee; it is a coin-operated entrance, costing 100 yen per person. Well, I was already there, so I paid to enter. From my impression, not many airports charge for the observation deck; I seem to have only encountered this in Okinawa and Hokkaido.

Photography Notes at Kobe Airport
There are three major airports in the Kansai region of Japan: Kansai International Airport, Osaka International Airport (Itami Airport), and Kobe Airport. I had already been to the first two, so recently, taking advantage of a business trip, I used Kobe Airport to return to Tokyo. I also took some photos at the airport, effectively marking all three Kansai airports as visited.
Since my flight was scheduled for 18:00 that afternoon, I spent the morning wandering around the city, had lunch in Chinatown, took a walk by the seaside and in the beautiful city of Kobe, and started preparing to head out around 15:00.

Title: A Log of Riding on the Boeing 787
I rarely take domestic flights in Japan. Recently, however, I took the opportunity of a business trip to skip the Shinkansen and fly an All Nippon Airways (ANA) Boeing 787 from Tokyo to Osaka instead. Below is a brief summary.
I booked the ticket via the ANA website. After entering my membership number and password, and selecting the date as well as the departure and arrival airports, I could see the schedule for the day’s flights from Tokyo Haneda International Airport to Osaka Itami International Airport. I selected the flight that suited me best based on the schedule, price, and aircraft type, then made the reservation, selected my seat, and entered credit card information. It was very simple. I then received an email containing a link; a single tap on my iPhone displayed the boarding pass in Passbook.
This meant there was no need to print an e-ticket; I could board directly with my phone.
