Check Lists

The following checklists are designed for the convenience of simulated pilots and customized according to the X-Plane A330-300 aircraft. These differ from the checklists of the real aircraft.

Cold and Dark to Engine Start The following checklist is a subset of real procedures and includes only the essential steps required from Cold and Dark to Engine Start: PARKING BRAKE - ON

TRANSPONDER - STANDBY

BAT1 - ON BAT2 - ON

(EXTERNAL POWER) EXTA - ON BEACON - ON NAV LIGHTS - ON

APU BATTERY ON APU MASTER - ON APU - START

Wait for APU startup. (APU AVAIL displayed)

APU GENERATOR - ON

(EXTERNAL POWER) EXTA - OFF

ADIRS IR1 / IR2 / IR3 - ON ADR1 / ADR2 / ADR3 - ON ADIRS Rotaries - NAV

(PNUMATIC AIR CYCLE KIT) PAX SYSTEM - ON

APU BLEED - ON

Using the MCDU Click the CLR button [Delete CHECK DATA BASE CYCLE from the scratchpad] Click the INIT button to call up the INIT page

Type the ICAO codes for the Departure/Destination into the scratchpad (separated by a slash “/”) Example displays as KJFK/KBOS

Click line select key 1R to fill the FROM/TO field boxes Example displays as KJFK/KBOS

Enter only the Flight Level into the scratchpad (Temperature will auto-fill) Example displays as Flight Level 240 / 24,000 ft

Click line select key 6L to fill the CRZ FL/TEMP field boxes

Optionally enter the Flight Number into the scratchpad Click line select key 3L to fill Example displays as AA300

Click the PERF button to select the Flight Phase performance page

Enter the calculated V1 speed into the scratchpad Click line select key 1L to fill this Follow the same steps to enter VR and V2 speeds respectively Tip: If you do not have a method to calculate V speeds, you can use the “Flap Retraction” speed as V2, VR as V2 minus 5, and V1 as V2 minus 10

Enter the required Flap setting for takeoff (1 or 2) into the scratchpad Click line select key 3R to fill this Tip: This is only to remind the pilot of the takeoff Flap setting applicable to the situation. If your V speeds were calculated based on the flap retraction speed in the previous step, please use "2".

Before Taxi SEATBELT SIGN - ON TAXI LIGHTS - TAXI TRANSPONDER - AUTO PARKING BRAKE - OFF FLAPS - AS REQUIRED SPEED BRAKES - ARMED AUTO BRAKES - MAX

Before Takeoff ALTIMETER - SET

LANDING LIGHTS - ON TAXI LIGHTS - TAKEOFF STROBES - ON

After Takeoff LANDING GEAR - UP FLAPS - RETRACTED THRUST - SET AS REQUIRED SPEEDBRAKES - DISARMED

Cruise SEATBELT SIGN - OFF LANDING LIGHTS - OFF TAXI LIGHTS - OFF ALTIMETER - SET

Before Landing SEATBELT SIGN - ON ALTIMETER - SET LANDING LIGHTS - ON TAXI LIGHTS - TAKEOFF

Landing SPEED BRAKES - ARMED AUTO BRAKES - AS REQUIRED FLAPS - AS REQUIRED LANDING GEAR - DOWN

After Landing FLAPS - RETRACTED SPEED BRAKES - DISARMED LANDING LIGHTS - OFF TAXI LIGHTS - TAXI
