A Glimpse of Aomori Airport
Spring Cherry Blossom Season: Traveling to Hirosaki for Hanami, flying from Haneda to Aomori Airport. Due to limited time, I made a brief stop of just over ten minutes at the Aomori Airport observation deck to take some commemorative photos.
Several famous landmarks are visible on the right side before landing:
Lake Towada
Mt. Hakkoda

And the Aomori city area.
The central long white building is the Aomori Central Wholesale Market,
The circular building slightly above is the Aomori Prefectural Skating Rink,
And the triangular building by the distant seaside is the Aomori Prefectural Tourism and Product Center.
Finally, the aircraft landed steadily on Runway 24,
Visible at the adjacent Jet Bridge is an FDA Fuji Dream Airlines ERJ-175, registration JA07FJ.
There were only 3 or 4 tourists on the spacious observation deck.
The Tower is also within close reach.

Aomori Airport has only 6 parking spots. From the observation deck, you can see two Jet Bridges on each side.

Mt. Hakkoda, seen from the aircraft earlier, is not far from the airport.

The PAPI near Taxiway 4, the ILS Glide Slope antenna, and the “AOMORI VOR” VOR/DME antenna in the background. Refer to the chart

The Aomori region experiences extremely heavy snowfall in winter, so you can see some uncommon snow removal vehicles
This snow removal team is named “White Impulse”. Specific details about the vehicles can be found in the link above and on <a href=“https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wjv5N8Cawkw" target="_blank” title=“青森空港除雪隊ホワイトインパルスVer.3【公式】Aomori-AirPort"WHITE IMPULSE”">YouTube.
Also, in the distance on the left side of the photo, the airport’s RVR detector is visible.
At Spot 2, a JAL ERJ-190 (JA245J) was just pulling in. Let’s observe it up close.

That ERJ175 from earlier has also been pushed out.

The observation deck’s briefing room also features a finely made 3D model of the airport,
As well as detailed explanations of the airport’s history.
I took photos of them all as souvenirs.
