ZBAD Daxing International Airport Charts
AIP China has publicly released the charts for ZBAD Daxing International Airport. I immediately found them and took a look, and have placed them in the China Charts - Daxing Airport page on this site for your reference.

From the chart, you can see that Daxing Airport has a total of 4 Runways: 17R/35L and 17L/35R in the north-south direction, as well as 19R/01L, and 11L/29R in the east-west direction. Except for Runway 19R/01L, which is 3400 meters long, the other three Runways are all 3800 meters long. Regarding Runway width, except for 17R/35L which is 45 meters wide, the others are all 60 meters wide. You can see on the left side of the chart that there is another Runway under construction; I don’t know what its designation will be.
Additionally, you can see that the Pavement Classification Number (PCN) for the Runways is 90. I looked up some ACN data for major aircraft online; with a PCN of 90, unless there are exceptional circumstances such as maximum weight, there should basically be no issues.
Let’s look at the approach charts below, which include the following for northerly winds: RNAV ILS/DME RWY01L RNAV CAT-II/III ILS/DME RWY01L RNAV ILS/DME RWY35L RNAV CAT-II ILS/DME RWY35L RNAV ILS/DME RWY35R For southerly winds: RNAV ILS/DME z RWY17L West Side Entry RNAV ILS/DME y RWY17L East Side Entry RNAV ILS/DME z RWY17R West Side Entry RNAV ILS/DME y RWY17R East Side Entry RNAV ILS/DME RWY19R And for westerly winds: RNAV ILS/DME RWY29R It looks like landings on 11L are not available.
Pay attention to the fact that 01L and 35L are equipped with Category II ILS systems; especially 01L, which is equipped with a Category CAT III B ILS!
I previously only knew that Pudong Airport domestically had a Category III CAT III A system;
once, when I was flying, I specially took a photo to commemorate it.
Daxing has gone a step further than Pudong. In the future, if I have the chance to go, I must definitely get a photo of this CAT III B.
Here, let’s focus on this CAT III B approach chart.
The Decision Height (DH) for CAT III B is 0, and landing is possible with a Runway Visual Range (RVR) of greater than 75 meters!
I won’t post the Departure charts, but I feel that during southerly winds, flights heading north and east use Runway 19R, while flights heading south can use 17L/17R/19R. During northerly winds, flights to the southwest use 35L/35R, while 01L and 11L are mainly for flying to the north and east, though southern flights are also possible. Looking at the Arrival charts, the feeling regarding Runway usage is basically the same as for Departure: flights arriving from the east and north use Runways 01L and 19R.
2 Use of Runways and Taxiways 2.1 Runway Operating Rules 2.1.1 Runway 01L/19R is mainly used for Arrival. 2.1.2 Runway 11L is mainly used for Departure. 2.1.3 Runway 17R/35L is mainly used for Arrival. 2.1.4 Runway 17L/35R is mainly used for Departure.
Regarding Takeoff:
5.3. All Taxiways at this airport meet low visibility operation standards. 5.4 RVR 75m Takeoff based on HUD (Head-Up Display System) 5.4.1 The implementation of RVR 75m takeoff based on HUD at this airport must meet the following execution conditions: 5.4.1.1 RVR is less than 200m but not less than 75m. 5.4.1.2 The airline has obtained special approval from the authority. 5.4.1.3 The aircraft is equipped with onboard HUD and is approved by the authority. 5.4.1.4 The crew is trained and qualified.
By the way, the Daxing Airport Scenery for X-Plane has also been released. I haven’t had time to test it yet, but I must definitely install it and take it for a test flight next weekend when I have time.
