Real-world Flight Plan Database Websites

I found a great UK website, which provides over one hundred thousand real-world flight plans submitted by professionals. Although there is a lot of outdated data, it is still highly recommended. Real World Flightplan Database

You need to register for a free ID before using this website. The process is very simple and takes about 1 minute, so I won’t go into details here.

After logging in, click the Search section in the link bar on the left side of the website, and fill in the required information. For example, if I want to find a flight plan to Beijing Capital International Airport, I enter ZBAA in the Destination ICAO field. Then you get the search results:

Looks like they are mainly European and American routes. The search results include an Age Band item, which indicates how fresh the data is. For example, green indicates data logged within the last 4 months, yellow for data 4-6 months old, orange for 6-12 months, red for 12-18 months, and grey for old data over 18 months.

Let’s test data for a flight from Tokyo to Beijing, but found 0 results, which was slightly disappointing. So I checked the flight data departing from Tokyo, and sure enough, it’s also dominated by Europe and the US.

Then let’s just click on a random flight plan, like the one from Tokyo to London Heathrow Airport, The waypoint information feels quite detailed.

Copy the data out,

and simulate it in SkyVector. It looks like this Great Circle route is quite realistic.
