Featured on Airliners.net's Official SNS Account
It is a great honor to have my photo featured for the first time by Airliners.net’s official SNS account. This ANA A321neo, registration JA131A, was shot at Haneda at the end of last month. In fact, I had also photographed this airframe in Osaka before, and that shot was accepted by anet as well. It seems I have some fate with this aircraft.
JA131A is ANA’s first A321neo, and the first domestic route aircraft equipped with an inflight entertainment system at every seat, entering service on September 8, 2017.
The photo was taken around 5:40 PM, when the light was already slightly dim. Since the sun’s altitude was already very low, it provided excellent, soft front lighting for the airframe, covering the entire aircraft and leaving almost no shadows on the fuselage (including the lower part).
The intent behind this photo was to capture the perfect side profile of the aircraft parked at Jet Bridge 66. I waited during those dozens of seconds while it entered the parking stand, pressing the shutter only at the moment I saw a satisfactory composition in the viewfinder.
A screenshot to commemorate:

I used Manual exposure mode, with a shutter speed of 1/640 sec and aperture stopped down to F6.3, ISO was set to Auto, reaching 320.
I really like this photo too. For instance, the terminal created a large shadow at the bottom of the image, making the contrast relatively striking and the scene more vivid. At that moment, I thought this was the last shooting opportunity for this spot that day, so I had to seize the shutter timing and ensure no camera shake.
There is also an ANA Boeing 737-700 at the top of the image, along with several ground vehicles, and ground crew near the A321neo’s tail and main wing, which also reflects the busy atmosphere of the airport. If there were too many ground vehicles, the composition would look messy, but this image can be described as just right.
