Introduction to Some Free Asian Airports in X-Plane 11

The X-Plane.org community has recommended some exquisite free airports. Below are a few from Asia, including Beijing Capital International Airport, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport, Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport, and Tokyo Haneda International Airport, among others. There is no need to download these airports separately, as they are all included in the base X-Plane game.

First, let’s look at Beijing Capital International Airport Beijing Capital Intl (ZBAA)

X-Plane’s lighting effects are truly great, leaving FlightGear in the dust. The Runway textures are nice, looking more realistic than FlightGear’s. Baiyun’s night view feels a bit like a photograph (diffraction starbursts created by aperture) rather than what the naked eye sees. Also, I found that monitor size severely impacts flying skills, especially during the Landing phase. A multi-screen panorama combined with the correct FOV is truly very important.

The blogger is a wealthy “hardcore” enthusiast. Until recently, I finally bit the bullet and bought a T16000M, and finally stopped breaking landing gear. Every time I hear the friction sound of the tires contacting the Runway, it’s so pleasant and soothing.
