Osaka Itami Airport Photography Spot Introduction #5: Inagawa River Embankment
After leaving Sky Land Harada, I headed to another Osaka plane spotting location, “Inagawa River Levee”. Inagawa is the name of a river, and “dobete” means riverbank, so “Inagawa Dobete” is not a park, but a river levee at the approach end of the Itami Airport Runway. From here, you can capture head-on shots of aircraft taking off and landing on Runway 32L.
This spot is just a narrow path, with the Runway approach lights right behind you.
Occasional joggers, walkers, and cyclists would pass by.
There is nothing around, and the wind is strong, so I called it a day after a little over an hour.
However, this angle allows for truly spectacular photos of aircraft taking off. If it were snowing or raining, the water spray or snow mist kicked up by the thrust reversers would be absolutely magnificent. I plan to return here to shoot again if the opportunity arises.
Finally, regarding how to get there: the simplest way is to walk from JR Itami Station.
Head east, cross the Inagawa River, and then walk north along the riverbank for about 15 minutes.
The location is marked as number 4 in the picture.
