Aviation Spotting Photos at Nagoya Chubu Centrair International Airport Part 2
As a follow-up to Revisiting Chubu Centrair International Airport, here are a few photos taken when the lighting was decent. Feel free to click to view the full-size images.
N854NW Airbus A330-223 - Delta Air Lines Delta Air Lines’ A330-200 is an uncommon sight; perhaps this is the first photo I’ve taken of one. I checked online, and it turns out there are only 11 of them in total.
JA303K Boeing 737-54K - ANA Wings ANA Wings is a subsidiary of All Nippon Airways (ANA). With Osaka International Airport, Chubu Centrair International Airport, and New Chitose Airport as its hubs, it focuses on operating small aircraft and propeller planes. Therefore, you basically won’t see them at Haneda Airport.
Every older Boeing 737-500 in this company’s fleet has a dolphin mark on the engine cowl, earning the aircraft the nickname “Super Dolphin.”
B-HLN Airbus A330-343 - Cathay Pacific Airways Cathay Pacific’s A330s are rarely seen in Tokyo. Even rarer is that this aircraft seems to have just been repainted with the new livery in September. Photos of the new livery A330 are also scarce on a.net, so this one has garnered quite a few views.
JA13JJ Airbus A320-232 - Jetstar Japan Airlines Jetstar Japan also doesn’t have routes to Haneda, and for me, this is a rare aircraft type as well.
JA11RJ Bombardier CRJ-702ER NG (CL-600-2C10) - Ibex Airlines (ANA Connection) IBEX Airlines is a Japanese regional airline. It mainly operates scheduled routes departing from Sendai Airport and Osaka International Airport, with its hub at Sendai Airport. I had only managed to capture them by chance when visiting Osaka Itami Airport before, so getting a relatively clear photo this time leaves me quite satisfied.
RP-C3439 Airbus A340-313 - Philippine Airlines The A340 is a rare aircraft type, and this is my first time seeing a Philippine Airlines A340. It’s just a pity that I feel I didn’t adjust the colors very well during retouching; the tones seem a bit yellowish…
HL8090 Boeing 737-8AS - Jeju Air Photos of the Boeing 737-800 are truly all over the internet, but I’m actually quite satisfied with this one. The aircraft had just rotated, it’s almost a perfect side profile, and the background happens to feature a VOR antenna. Of course, the color issue is similar to the previous photo; I plan to do some re-editing when I have time.
JA64AN Boeing 737-881 - All Nippon Airways - ANA A photo of an All Nippon Airways Boeing 737-800. This aircraft type really has no distinguishing features, but it reflects the lighting characteristics of late autumn and early winter: the sun is low in the sky, so even at midday, the light still illuminates most of the side of the fuselage. Additionally, because the sun is farther away (seasonally), the light is relatively softer. In summer, the high overhead sun casts deep shadows beneath the fuselage, and the harsh light causes aircraft details to disappear, making it extremely unsuitable for photography.
JA71AN Boeing 737-881 - All Nippon Airways - ANA Another ANA Boeing 737-800, with the white fuselage blending perfectly into the blue ocean background. Personally, I love photos taken the moment the aircraft rotates right in front of my eyes; sometimes if you zoom in, you can even see the pilot’s face clearly. This was taken at 8:30 AM; the sunlight wasn’t too strong, and the angle was low, so the entire side of the fuselage was illuminated, resulting in a relatively small shadow area. I’m quite satisfied with the overall result.
JA73NJ Boeing 737-86N - Skymark Airlines
