Review of the ASA E6-B Flight Computer

Today is a holiday called “Culture Day”, and I’m resting at home. Recalling the discussion about flight computers during the LUXURY FLIGHT, I realized I’ve forgotten quite a bit about how to use them, so I decided to review the E6-B.

The manual that comes with the flight computer itself contains nearly 30 problems. After working through them one by one and checking the answers at the back, I found that there are still some areas I had forgotten, such as volume and weight conversions.

Generally, when playing X-Plane 10, I mainly fly the Cessna 172. During flights, I just use the E6B to calculate the Wind Correction Angle for crosswinds, and to estimate the flight time for each leg based on speed. It looks like I should review this every so often, otherwise, if I don’t practice the less common functions, I’ll slowly forget them all…
