Flying a Simulation Over the Diaoyu Islands

I’ve been traveling on business for weeks, and my blog has been neglected for a long time, which is very embarrassing.

During this period, another diplomatic crisis between China and Japan has emerged, and hostile sentiments between the peoples of the two countries have resurfaced. The Americans must be gloating on the sidelines, thinking their strategy of alienation is quite successful, right? I really hope this boring situation will end soon.

Speaking of safeguarding sovereignty, it starts with me. Due to my limited financial and physical strength, although I cannot personally visit the island, in the world of the flight simulator X-Plane 10, we can still come and go freely. Alright, let me also visit the Diaoyu Islands.

First, select an airport, open the Location > Select Global Airport menu, Enter ROIG (Ishigaki Airport) or ROYN (Yonaguni Airport), and press Enter to enter that airport. Then open the Local Map to find where the Diaoyu Islands are on the map?

So, let’s fly a Cessna 172 around the small island. スクリーンショット(2012-08-21 22.20.55).png

Looking from the cockpit, the shape becomes clearer and clearer, Cessna_172SP_1.png Hmm, the scenery in X-Plane 10 is very realistic, indeed it looks very similar to what is seen on TV, Cessna_172SP_2.png Oh, this must be the place where the Hong Kong activists landed? Cessna_172SP_3.png

After flying a lap, feeling that the sea was calm and the wind was gentle, I descended to take a look. I lowered the Flaps fully, reduced the speed to near stall speed, gradually controlled the descent, selected a relatively flat spot to pull back, applied the brakes, and—oh, successful landing! Hehe, without any effort, I successfully landed on the island as well. Cessna_172SP_4.png

The End
